The 1st Annual Floyd Fourth of July celebration was a huge success! About 200 or so folks from the community and school enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs cooked by the Fire Department and homemade ice cream made by the Culpeppers from the Children’s Home. After everyone was stuffed, there was fun and games at the school’s football field for everyone, including stick horse races, sack races, and a dunking booth. All the children enjoyed some sparkler fun and everyone enjoyed an impressive fireworks display. The evening closed out with a dance in the fire station, with music Djed by Jeff Essary. Special thanks to the Village of Floyd for their generous financial contributions for this community event.
